Kaito is back, and it is running on two new engines at once. The old model - farm Yaps, hope for mindshare - has been replaced by Katalyst, a rewards layer that pays on measurable outcomes, and AURA, a reputation score that checks whether you actually did the thing you posted about.

Katalyst, announced July 29 2026, is a reward layer for creator campaigns where allocation is driven by mindshare, clicks, sign-ups, deposits and in-platform activity rather than raw impressions. For TGE campaigns the split is published: 80% of each campaign's token pool goes to creators, 20% to KAITO stakers and YT sKAITO holders. That is the structural change worth understanding - posting volume alone no longer converts, and there are already two airdrop campaigns running under Katalyst. The first major exchange campaign on Katalyst plus Partner tools was MEXC's two-part stock education campaign with up to $200,000 in incentives.

AURA, launched August 18 2026, is the reputation layer, and it is the more interesting half. AURA measures an account's influence by cross-referencing what you post against public positions and verifiable track records on platforms like Hyperliquid and Polymarket. In plain terms: if you post a call, AURA can check whether you were actually in the trade. It launched alongside Pulse, a browser extension that surfaces this directly in the X timeline, and it stems from a data agreement between Kaito and X following the platform's restrictions on incentivized posts. Users can now claim their AURA.

Why this is a different game. The previous meta rewarded people who could generate the most posts. This one rewards people whose posts are backed by real positions and whose audiences actually convert - clicking, signing up, depositing. If you are a genuine operator who trades and builds and happens to write about it, the change is in your favour. If your edge was volume, it is not.

Honest caveats. Kaito already has a live token, so this is not a tokenless prospect - the earnings here are campaign rewards and staker distributions, plus positioning for whatever Katalyst campaigns list next. Attribution-based rewards also mean your payout depends on a black-box measurement of conversions you cannot audit. And Pulse has drawn privacy questions over alleged device and X tracking - that is a real reported concern, not a smear, and you should read what the extension asks for before installing it.
