Depeg

A depeg is when a stablecoin loses its intended price, for example trading well below $1.

Why it matters: a depeg can cost more than any airdrop. Withdrawal rushes after a depeg have forced vaults to close.

Example: Altura began winding down its vault in June 2026 after a redemption rush during another stablecoin's depeg.
