Funding rate

A funding rate is a periodic payment between long and short traders on perpetual futures that keeps the contract price close to the spot price.

Why it matters: in a hedged airdrop setup, the funding difference between two venues is a real cost or income. It can quietly turn a points farm unprofitable.
