TVL

TVL (total value locked) is the total value of assets deposited in a protocol.

Why it matters: rising TVL shows trust and traction; a sharp drop can be an early warning. A protocol's TVL collapsing ahead of a shutdown is a pattern we have flagged on closed projects.
