Catalyst: Sequoia-backed AI trading agents, still waitlist-first
As of October 27, 2026, Catalyst is in a free "research preview" and still letting people in from a waitlist. It has no token, no points program and no airdrop announced. What it does have is a $30M seed round led by Sequoia Capital (announced October 8, 2026) and a product that turns a trade idea written in plain English into an automated strategy. What it is: Catalyst calls itself "the intent layer for all of finance." You describe a thesis ("if this account posts X, buy Y, take profit at Z") and it builds a visual workflow, watches real-time signals such as news, social posts, sentiment and prices, and executes when conditions hit. It supports spot tokens, perpetuals, tokenized stocks and prediction markets , with research widgets for options flow, funding rates, fund flows and your portfolio. It is non-custodial, and deposits work by card, Apple Pay, or USDC, SOL, ETH and BNB.
Why hunters are watching
- Tier-one money, no token. Sequoia led the $30M seed, with Jump Trading, Peak XV, Lux Capital, Coinbase and others in the round, per Fortune.
- Early access is the whole edge. The product is free during the preview, and the team says it is bringing people in from the waitlist before a wider launch.
- It automates the things farmers already do by hand: conditional entries, stop losses, take profits and signal-driven trades across perps and prediction markets.
The mechanics that matter
- Waitlist: join with the button on the site; public trackers say it asks for an email and your X handle. No public ranking, points or referral rewards are published.
- Cost: free during the research preview.
- Withdrawals: stablecoins only for now; fiat withdrawals "coming soon".
- Safety model: Catalyst says it does not hold user funds, that you set the budget and conditions, and that you can pause or change a strategy at any time.
